“The Lava Iris 550Q offers mid-range specs at affordable price point”

The domestic smartphone manufacturer Lava has introduced a new Iris smartphone in the market. Tagged as the Lava Iris 550Q, the phone comes with mid-range specifications to impress the budget buyers at Rs 13,000. Lava states that the Iris 550Q empowers a cutting-edge design with a narrow 3mm bezel for easy handling.

Coming to the specs, the Lava Iris 550Q flaunts a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution, based on OGS (one glass solution) technology. Horsepower is provided by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. The handset sports an 8MP rear snapper with a BSI sensor and an LED flash, and has support for 1,080p video recording. There is a 2MP front shooter for video calling.

The Iris 550Q offers 4GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD cards. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with regular connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The phone is fuelled by a 2,600mAh battery, which is rated to offer 10 hours of talk time on 2G networks.

The Lava Iris 550Q will be available to purchase across both brick-and-mortar and online retail stores in the country, starting April. It will be offered with a free flip cover. The phone will be competing against the likes of the Moto G and other sub-15k smartphones. Earlier this month, the Lava Iris 503e dual-SIM (WCDMA + GSM) entry-level Android phone was launched for Rs 6,749.
