"We put the Lava Iris X1 to the test, and here's how it fared."

If you're looking for a budget handset running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, your options are limited. While the Moto E is being hailed by many as the best entry-level smartphone, the daily drama surrounding its going in and out of stock on Flipkart is becoming a bit of a joke. Indian manufacturer Lava, which has the advantage of a good network of sellers and distributors across the country, recently unveiled its competing offering in the form of the Iris X1. Boasting an elegant design, dual cameras and the latest Android version, it looks like the real deal, at least from the outset. We've put the phone through its paces already, and we'll have the full review up very soon. Until then, here's a quick review in pictures.
