"The Le Max is a truly loaded smartphone, and here are some of the key reasons why you should be considering it"
LeEco (formerly Letv) debuted in the Indian market with two new smartphone offerings, the Le 1s and Le Max. While the former targets the budget segment, with the launch of the Le Max, the brand wants to compete in the flagship market. The Le Max has a plethora of new features that not just justify its title of being a flagship, but also ensures it stands out from the rest of the crowd. Moreover, LeEco has opted for a no-compromise approach which seems to have worked in favour of the handset. In case you’ve been wondering, here are the top five reasons why the Le Max should be your next smartphone.
The Le Max sports an astounding unibody metallic design that is a treat to the eyes. Furthermore, LeEco has given a lot of attention to detail in each and every millimeter of the device. It’s a design that’ll surely turn many heads around. The metal chassis and the shiny antenna bands at the back of the phone compliment its look and feel. Surprisingly, despite the metal body, the phone isn’t too slippery and sits comfortably in the hand, thanks to the even distribution of its weight. All of this, in a handset whose waist measures just 8.9mm thick.
Overall, we think that LeEco hasn't cut any corners when it comes to LeMax’s design, so this is definitely one of the key highlights.
The front of the Le Max is dominated by a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a QHD resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. While this may sound a little big, the slim bezels around the display ensure the overall footprint of the device remains low. Owing to the big screen, it is an excellent choice for media consumption, be it movies or videos on YouTube. A sharp pixel density of 466ppi, vibrant colours and high contrast levels, all add up to make this display one of the best to feature on any smartphone. On top of that, being a phablet means Le Max provides the best of both worlds to the end user.
LeEco has left no stone unturned in order to offer the best hardware available in the market at present. The flagship 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm provides the power for the hardware. There is also a mammoth 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, checking the boxes for smooth transitions and enhanced multitasking. Gaming is butter smooth, and so is the UI. In addition to this, there is 64GB of onboard memory to store lots of apps and data. A fingerprint sensor at the back takes care of the security, while a 3,400mAh battery provides enough juice to last over a day.
All in all, the smartphone is a complete powerhouse.
The cameras on the Le Max are almost unparalleled in terms of quality. At the rear, there is a 21MP camera with an Exmor-RS CMOS sensor and dual-LED flash. Images or videos shot on the Le Max won’t be shaky, thanks to the inclusion of optical image stabilisation. And if this wasn’t enough, the folks at LeEco have even managed to use an Exmor-RS sensor in the front camera as well. The front camera is a 4MP camera with ultrapixel technology. Each pixel takes in more light resulting in brighter and crisper selfies, and enhanced low light capabilities.
At the launch event, LeEco announced its plans to offer content from streaming services such as Eros International and YuppTV. This is an excellent offer and takes the company one step closer to its vision of building a closely integrated ecosystem. Starting second quarter of 2016, users of the phablet could take advantage of the services to watch movies, as well as about 250 live channels across 12 languages. We agree it’s always nice to have a little extra in the package, but this offer might just be the cherry on top of a cake that is already proving to be quite delicious.
