|January 19 2013 |Mobiles

Lenovo has launched its new device The A690. The device was officially announced towards the early part of January,2013. Lenovo A690 is available at a price of Rs. 7490 online.

Lenovo A690 is a Dual SIM device that weighs 134 grams and has dimensions of 124 x 65 x 11mm. Its light weight makes it easier to carry. The smartphone sports a 4.0 inch, 480 x 800p TFT capacitive touch screen running on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread powered by 1.0 GHz Cortex A9 processor.

We would have expected the device to run on the Ice cream sandwich Operating system if not Jelly Bean and therefore the selection of an archaic Android version by Lenovo is among one of the negative features of this device.

The smartphone has 3.15 MP primary camera with zoom facility. The camera does not seem to be pretty impressive for shutterbugs. However some might find it interesting that the camera coms with Geo Tagging feature. Its audio player supports formats like MP3, WMA, WAV and OCG.

The device has internal storage capacity of 512MB that is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card. The device has less than average memory capacity and this comes out as one of its prime demerits. On the connectivity front it supports Wi-fi, Bluetooth, 3G and GPRS connectivity.

It is available in Black colour. Lenovo A690 is powered by a battery of 1500mAh. Lenovo A690 does not have a strong battery support. It is an average device and the features are not pretty impressive however its economical price range might be attractive for some customers.
