Xperia ZR seems to be a smaller brother of Xperia Z, and is actually a step ahead because of its waterproof capabilities in comparison to Xperia Z’s water resistance.
Xperia ZR comes with a screen of 4.55 inches sporting a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (~323 ppi). It runs on a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 320 graphics processor. It has 2 GB RAM and internal memory of 8 GB, which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The camera is similar with Xperia Z which is 13 MP at back and 2 MP at front. For connectivity purposes, the smartphone has 2G/ 3G/ 4G. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. It is fueled by a non-removable 2300 mAh battery.
The smartphone is IP 55/58 compliant making it dust-resistant and waterproof. It can be submerged in a 1.5 m depth of water for up to 30 minutes.
While still a rumor, Samsung will probably launch durable version of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S4 as Galaxy S4 Activ on June 20.
According to rumors, the device will be featuring same specifications as of Galaxy S4 with 5 inch Full HD screen. It will be backed by 1.9 GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 320 graphics processor and 2 GB RAM. It will have a internal storage of 8GB/ 16GB expandable up to 32 GB through microSD card. Reports suggest that it might have a 8 MP camera, instead of 13 MP camera used in Galaxy S4. The front-facing camera of 2 MP will be useful for video calling needs. In terms of connectivity, users will get usual options like 2G/ 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. There are no details about the battery capacity, but we assume it to be same as of S4 at 2600 mAh.
The smartphone will have a red and black metallic sheet attached to its back making it water and dust resistant. It also seems that instead of Samsung’s standard button layout of two capacitive button and one physical button, S4 Activ will have three hard buttons.
