MediaTek launches affordable dual core processor chip for entry level smartphones

MediaTek has announced a new SoC MT6572 with dual core processor and HSPA+ connectivity support. This is a new system on chip design with 4in1 connectivity functions.  MediaTek’s MT6572 SoC is the first dual core system on chip with integrated connectivity for WiFi, GPS, FM and Bluetooth in affordable prices.

The new SoC will also offer HSPA+ connectivity in cost effective 4 layer PCB design.  MT6572 is also capable of supporting 5MP camera, 3D graphics and HD display with 720p resolution. Now smartphone manufacturers can bring new features in the entry level phones with affordable rates.

Company said that there will be hundreds of smartphone models in the market from June 2013 powered by MT6572 SoC. Mobile phone customers in India will soon find new entry level phones in the market with better features from companies like Micromax, Lava and Karbonn etc. These companies are already using the MT6489 SoC from MediaTek in their devices.
