The National Telecom Award 2012 was announced today and the 'Mobile Theater' from the house of MediaTek has won the award in the 'Best Innovation in Mobile Video Technology' category.
MediaTek Inc. is one of the leading fabless semiconductor companies for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions. The National Telecom Award 2012 was organized by CMAI, a national apex association of India having more than 48,500 members and fifty international MoU partners.
MediaTek won the award for its path-breaking audio-video compression software named 'Mobile Theater'.
The National Telecom Award 2012 ceremony was held at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. Nominations for different categories were adjudged on several criteria like commercial success, technology innovation, research dedication and strategy execution by eminent Jury Committee from different fields of IT, Telecom, Law etc.
'Mobile Theater' facilitate users of storing audio or digital files of about fifty movie clips on a 2GB T-card. It can run MPEG-4 as well as H.264 formats apart from other popular ones. The files compressed on this software can be played on all the leading brand phones such as Micromax, Karbonn, SPICE, Intex, Lemon, Videocon, MAXX etc.
