Micromax Bolt A068 offers a large display at an affordable price

Micromax has silently released a new entry-level Android phone in India for budget-conscious buyers. Called the Micromax Bolt A068, the phone offers a 5-inch display and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is currently available to buy at Snapdeal for Rs 7,108, but there’s no info about availability in brick-and-mortar stores across the country at the moment.

The Micromax Bolt A068 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor of unspecified make, and a 2,000mAh battery that offers 7 hours of talk-time and 230 hours of standby time. Snapdeal hasn’t yet disclosed any details about the RAM and internal storage, but it does come with a microSD card slot to expand the storage up to 32GB.

The Bolt A068 sports a 5-megapixel rear shooter accompanied by an LED flash and a 0.3MP front-facing shooter. The handset offers the usual connectivity features like 3G, dual-SIM (GSM+GSM), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is offered in white and blue variants.

The Micromax Bolt A068 offers almost similar specifications but a different design when compared to the Micromax Canvas Fun A76, released in August last year for a slightly higher price of Rs 8,499. Earlier this month, the home-grown smartphone manufacturer also released four entry level devices in the Bolt series, with starting price of Rs 2,999. In addition it also added a mid-range device in the Canvas series, called Micromax Canvas A93 Elanza, for Rs 9,400.
