Much hyped smartphone of the year, Micromax Canvas 4 finally launched today in India. Though, its better than Micromax A116 Canvas HD on some fronts, but overall specifications don’t pack enough punch to make the device deserving for the hype it received.
The device poses a lot of change from the specifications leaked earlier. It flaunts a 5.0 inch HD display (Not FullHD) with a resolution of 720 x 1280 px. It has been powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor (Same as Canvas A116) accompanied by 1GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS.
Much of the improvements have been given on camera front. It flaunts a 13MP rear camera with five element lens, image stabilization, multiple face detection and vertical panorama. The device has been given a 5MP front facing camera to make your video calls a breeze. It boasts 16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB.
For connectivity purpose it has been given Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Hotspot, 3G etc. Micromax has fueled it up by a 2000mAh battery, which we are really not sure would be able to give a full day of backup. The device poses some quite interesting features like Blow to Unlock and some features borrowed from Samsung devices like Touchwiz or automatic transfer to speaker mode during call if turned back.
Micromax Canvas 4 price in India is Rs 17999. The device is a decent up-gradation over its predecessor, especially in terms of camera, memory and smart features. But then, paying almost 5K more than Micromax Canvas HD A116 doesn’t seem justified.
Smartphones have become a necessity in today's digital age. Be it browsing the web or connecting with you...
