Micromax to launch 4G LTE supported smartphones and Windows Phone OS devices soon

|October 28 2013 |Micromax

India’s leading smartphone manufacturer, Micromax is planning to launch 4G LTE supported smartphones and Windows Phone OS running devices pretty soon. In an interview with Times of India, Company’s co-founder Rahul Sharma said that they are working on devices running on the Windows Phone operating system to launch next year.

In another interview with Economics Times, he also added that company will also introduce a 4G LTE network supported smartphone in India around December 2013. “We want to establish ourselves on LTE and offer products that are LTE ready by December, so that consumers would not need to change their handsets whenever voice over LTE becomes available, be it six months or eight months later,” Rahul Sharma told ET in Interview.

Looks like the local smartphone vendors are also coming forward to compete against the big brands in the 4G LTE segment. XOLO is also reported to launch a 4G LTE smartphone dubbed as XOLO LT900 in early November in the country. Many telecom operators in India are also planning to launch 4G LTE services next year. So, we will definitely find new devices from many other home grown vendors with 4G support.

Micromax has already confirmed that it is expanding its operations by launching phones in Russia pretty soon, and is also exploring opportunities in Pakistan. Overall, Micromax is looking forward to become a global player in the mobile phone market by expanding its reach to the global consumers. If it launches Windows running devices then it will also grab more market share in a different segment.
