Software giant Microsoft jumped in to the tablet race with the launch of Microsoft Surface back in July. However there was no information regarding the price and availability of the tablet.

Surface with Windows RT

Yesterday Microsoft started accepting preorders for Surface with Windows RT from 8 countries in its own store, thereby revealing the price and availability of the tablet. As per the listing it will be available from Oct 26 to the customers of US, UK, China, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and Hong Kong. The price for the US consumers are as below:

  • 32 GB without Black Touch Cover – $499

  • 32 GB with Black Touch Cover – $599

  • 64 GB with Black Touch Cover – $699

  • Pre-order

For the consumers opting to buy without black touch cover, a choice of White touch cover for $119 and Black type cover for $129 is available.

Microsoft launched the Surface tablet to compete against the Apple iPad, which (32GB, Wi-Fi) is selling for around Rs 35k now.
