Moto G (3rd-gen) unboxing: unwrapping Motorola's latest budget sensation

Over the past few days, we've been flooded with rumours and leaks about the latest generation of Motorola's popular Moto G, which was finally launched yesterday. Right from its first iteration, the Moto G has been “the people’s hero”, all credit to the value for money the smartphone provides. Just like its predecessors, the Moto G 3rd-gen comes with impressive specifications, a sturdy (and now stylish) build and an affordable price tag. While you can find out more on that in our first impressions of the device, here we explore what you get inside the smartphone's retail box.

The flip-open lid peels off to unveil the much-hyped device, resting up on another tray. Beneath the tray you will a pair of earphones, a USB cable, a two-pin adapter, warranty card, user manual and other standard documentation.


To round up the specifications of the device, the Moto G 3rd-gen sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It comes in two variants, one with 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM, and the other with 16GB of memory and 2GB of RAM. The storage is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Additionally, the phone rocks a 13-megapixel shooter at the back assisted by a dual-LED flash, and a 5MP camera in the front. Apart from the standard connectivity options, the Moto G 3rd-gen also offers 4G support. A 2,470mAh battery backs this Android Lollipop-running device. The new Moto G will be available for a price of Rs 12,999 (2GB RAM, 16GB storage) and Rs 11,999 (1GB RAM, 8GB storage).
