State owned telecom operator and India's first 3G service provider Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Limited (MTNL) slashed the 3G data charges. The new rates are applicable for both prepaid and postpaid customers and without any special recharge. Also, the company regularized the unlimited 3G data plans in the Delhi telecom circle.
As per the revised rates, customers can access to 3G data without any pack at a reduced data charges of 1 paisa/12 KB (less than Rs. 1 /MB). The new rates are applicable with effect from 1st August 2011. Apart from this, MTNL regularized the unlimited plans which were announced in account of promotional offer. Customers from Delhi circle who wish to opt for an unlimited plan can either choose Rs.1650 or Rs.4500 plans.
