MTV Volt Android Phablet unveiled

MTV partnering with Swipe Telecom has rolled out its first smartphone in the Indian market, named MTV Volt, making its official entry in the consumer technology devices segment .


MTV Volt sports a 6-inch touchscreen display which exhibits a display resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The Dual-SIM device runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system and has been powered with a 1 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex processor accompanied by 512MB of RAM.

The newly arrived device from MTV packs an 8MP Rear Camera along with a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. It packs an internal memory of 4GB which can be further expanded externally up to 32GB via Micro SD Card. On the connectivity front, the device includes Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, FM Radio and GPS. It has been fueled with a 3200 mAh battery.

MTV has priced its new innovation at Rs. 12,999 and has officially announced that the company will be introducing a range of smartphones and other Android run devices in the market in the price range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 in the coming time.

Available only in white color the Volt is accompanied by a flip cover in the box as a freebie. Considering the price of the device we may expect it to face the likes of the Karbonn A30 and Byond Phablet PIII as both of them feature a 6-inch display and arrive with a price tag around Rs. 11,000 and Rs. 12,500 respectively.
