Computex 2014: ASUS launches FonePad 8 and refreshed FonePad 7 with dual-SIM support and 64-bit Intel Atom processors

In addition to announcing its new MeMO Pad tablets at Computex 2014, ASUS also showcased its new FonePad lineup, featuring a refreshed version of the FonePad 7 and a new FonePad 8. Both tablets offer dual-SIM and voice-calling capabilities.

The ASUS FonePads feature IPS displays with 720p resolution and narrow bezels for easier one-handed use. Both tablets are powered by 64-bit 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processors. They feature 5MP rear and 2MP front shooters. Similar to the MeMO Pad 7, they are also equipped with stereo speakers and SonicMaster technology. The FonePads come with Miracast support to stream videos on supported TVs. They run Android 4.4 KitKat with ASUS' own Zen UI, which offers with various customisation options. Connectivity features on board include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.  

The ASUS FonePad 7 and FonePad 8 will be available in black, white, gold and red colour options. The availability and pricing details are still unknown.
