Here comes the new Motorola Flipout – which has been announced for the European markets on Friday and is expected to be released in the market by this June end. The square pivot design phone has a QVGA of 320x240 pixels with a 2.8 inches TFT touchscreen and 256 million colour resolution. It boasts of a QWERTY keyboard with an accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and MOTOBLUR UI of version 1.5 with Live Widgets. The phone has an internal memory of 250 MB along with a 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM ; memory expandable upto 32 GB with 2 GB card included .It is a 3G phone with HSDPA and HSUPA serving at a speed of 7.2 mbps and 2 mbps respectively alongwith a Bluetooth connectivity of 2.1 , a 2.0 USB and a 3.5 mm audio jack . The phone offers an Android OS of version 2.1 with TI OMAP3410 and a 600 MHz processor. The 128 gm phone features a 3.15 MP camera with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels . Playback supports all the audio files formats like MP3, MP4, AAC and AAC+ . The other features include A-GPS support, Java support via Third Party application, digital compass, Google maps and Street view, Enterprise Push Mail, Facebook, Twitter and Myspace applications, Document viewer (word excel, powerpoint ). The battery life is quite efficient serving a standby time upto 365 h (2G) & 380 h (3G) as well as the talktime would be upto 6 h (2G) & 4 h 30 min (3G). As of now the phone will be available in white, fairway queen, poppy red, raspberry crush, brilliant blue, licorice and saffron. Motorola Flipout would be a low cost smart phone targeting the high end international market for first time smart-phone users and would be competing with the lower end smart-phone market which includes Palm phones, Blackberry handsets as well as some entry level iphones.
