Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 to arrive in India by April end

The much awaited Windows 8 Phones, Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 that were unveiled at the MWC held last month at Barcelona are soon expected to arrive in the Indian smartphone market. While the launch date for the Lumia 520 is expected to be sometime by the end of this month, Lumia 720 is expected to be launched on April 27.

Nokia Lumia 520 priced at Rs. 11,599 sports a 4-inch IPS Capacitive LCD Display which has got a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Running on Windows 8 platform, it gets powered with 1GHz Dual-Core Krait Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU and 512MB of RAM. It sports a 5MP Camera and offers an onboard storage of 8GB that may be expanded externally up to 64GB via Micro SD card. The other features of the smartphone include 3G, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and a 1430 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Lumia 720 features a 4.3-inch IPS capacitive display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Running on Windows 8 operating system, it gets powered with 1Ghz Dual-Core Krait, Snapdragon S4 processor assisted by 512MB RAM. Priced at Rs. 17,000 this smartphone boasts a 6.7MP Rear camera accompanied by a 1.3MP Front Camera. It houses an Internal Memory of 8GB that may be further expanded externally up to 64GB. Other features of the Windows Phone 8 includes 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, NFC and 2000 mAh battery.

Both the Lumia devices will be available in a range of vibrant color options. Nokia has recently launched the Lumia 620 priced at Rs. 14,999 in the country and has received a great response from the market. It would be interesting to see how the Lumia siblings compete with each other in the Windows phone segment.
