Nokia N900 is to experience Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Nokia launched Nokia N900 last year with the Maemo operating system on board. Earlier, this year Nokia N900 experienced Android 2.1 Éclair, later the Android 2.2 Froyo and now it tastes the newly released Android 2.3 Gingerbread, apparently is may successfully handle the to-be released Android Honeycomb.


Maemo platform has been developed by Nokia in collaboration with many open source projects namely Linux kernel, Debian, GNOME, and many more. Maemo is an open-source platform which has over 22,000 registered members that contribute to more than 900 community development projects in the Maemo Garage. The first ever to experience Maemo is Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, the next Nokia N800 built on Maemo 3 release, Nokia N810 using Maemo 4, and latest Maemo device Nokia N900 loaded with Maemo 5.
