Nokia being one of leading mobile handset maker in the world is also selling Windows based Lumia smartphones starting from year 2011. Based on recent reports industry experts claim that Nokia may have sold more than 1.3 million Lumia smartphones last year. Interestingly, there is a sales figure published by Bloomberg on Monday saying the data is collected from 22 industry analysts. Ofcourse, "the numbers look promising", says Espen Furnes, Storebrand Asset Management Fund manager. “If Nokia is able to have a strong launch and surpass at least 1 million and keep that type of momentum, this would help put them in a credible position that is crucial to winning back investors.” he added.

Presently, the company has three models Nokia Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 under the Lumia family. The first two are introduced in the year 2011. The last one Nokia Lumia 900 was announced at International CES 2012 for AT&T and will hit the US markets in the month of March 2012. This smartphone offers 4G LTE support and looks exactly the same (slightly bigger screen) of Nokia Lumia 800. Nokia within a month selling one million Windows based smartphone units is a good achievement for the company. This is also a proving aspect that Windows phone 7 Smartphone is not a fail after all. If the combination of Nokia and Windows can generate interesting models in the coming months, the company can regain the market share that it lost for Android and other smartphone players.
