Nokia World 2013: Nokia Lumia 1520 official now

In an ongoing press event in Abu Dhabi, Nokia officially unveiled its biggest smartphone till date, the Nokia Lumia 1520. It is the first smartphone from the Finnish mobile manufacturer to host a 6-inch full HD display enabling it to compete against other phablets like Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sony Xperia Z Ultra etc.

Official features of Nokia Lumia 1520 include a full HD display running Windows Phone 8 OS. It is a bit thinner in design in comparison to the flagship Nokia Lumia 1020. This giant phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with a 2GB RAM. Company has introduced the phone in yellow, black, cyan, red and white colors.

The device comes with 32GB of internal storage which is quite decent. Since its a high end device from the Lumia series, a great camera was certainly expected and the company has very well taken care of this.  Nokia has empowered the device with a 20MP rear camera powered by Nokia PureView technology for superb quality photography experience. Company has also introduced Nokia Camera application in the phone which will allow users to great shots easily, thanks to spherical UI of camera options on the screen.

Company has also improved the user interface of the home screen to provide more space if you want to put more tiles. Nokia Here map service is now more useful with details like business hours, directions and user reviews. Overall, Nokia Lumia 1520 looks like a promising device which might help the company to grab more market share in the smartphone segment.

Nokia Lumia 1520 has been priced $749 and will be released first in Hong Kong, Singapore, US, China, France, Germany and the UK.
