R Chandrashekhar Is New DoT Secretary

R Chandrashekhar has been appointed as the telecom secretary  of the Department of Telecommunications. In this position, he will assume the new role as head of DoT. Prior to this, Chandrashekhar worked as the secretary in the Department of Information Technology. He will work as DoT secretary and Telecom commission chairman.

Additionally, Shashi Kant Sharma replaced Chandrashekhar, taking over the charge of Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT.  Sharma was Director General  (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence prior to his appointment as Secretary, DIT.

Chandrashekhar, a 1975 batch, IAS officer of AP cadre, is an alumuni of the IIT Mumbai where he completed double masters in Chemistry and did his Computer Science from Pennysylvania State University. Whereas, Sharma is from 1976 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.
