Research In Motion (RIM) introduced a new Mini Keyboard compatible with BlackBerry PlayBook. This brand new accessory from RIM is ultra-portable and easy to carry anywhere. Unlike the other keyboard docks from Asus or Motoroala, the new BlackBerry Mini Keyboard comes in a carrying case that holds the keyboard and the place to rest the tablet. Once the device placed on the case, the keyboard communicates with the tablet using 128-bit encrypted Bluetooth connection.

The new BlackBerry Mini Keyboard is compatible with PlayBook native applications including email client, Documents to Go and etc. The keyboard comes with a Powerful Multi touch control that supports BlackBerry PlayBook gestures. In other words, it works like a touchpad settled on a regular laptop with gestures like single-tap to simulate a mouse click, two-finger tap for right-click and two-finger up or down swipe for vertical scrolling etc.

Launching the device, James Poulton, Director, RIM Advanced Accessories said, “Whether you’re typing email, creating documents, surfing the web or using other apps, the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard and its integrated carrying case is an ideal accessory.”

BlackBerry Mini Keyboard offers a 30 days of battery life. US residents can purchase this accessory from RIM's online store for $119.99 and it will start shipping in couple of days.
