Research In Motion (RIM) offered a fresh news of excitement to all BlackBerry fans who are waiting for its PlayBook 4G tablet PC. Talking to the media at BlackBerry World event in the USA, CEO of the company said the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G LTE tablet may get launched ahead of its expected date, before end of 2012.
Earlier report in the media about the 4G version of PlayBook suggested the launching date to be beginning of 2013, by first quarter. The report was based on the leaked roadmap of RIM for the 2012-13. Now the news contradicts completely.
Well, CEO Thorsten Heins also mentioned that the technology used in the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G LTE tablet would be much better than any of the current RIM tablets.
The BlackBerry PlayBook 4G tablet is completely cellular network capable device and is expected to feature dual core 1.5 GHz processor and faster graphic processor. It is to feature 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1024x600 pixel resolution.
There will be multiple variants of the device to start with 32 GB storage and end with 64 GB.
Heins however didn't elaborate the price of the PlayBook 4G and when it will hit the shelves. Let us expect it would be released before Christmas to grab the shopping season.
The announcement came immediately after the company showed off the BlackBerry 10 operating system.
