Not very long back Acer launched the Iconia B1 tablet at CES. The tablet has a 7 inch screen and runs on the latest Android 4.1 JellyBean operating system. It hit the Indian markets soon after the launch.

Today, rumours are afire that the 8 and 10 inch version of the Iconia B1 is Acer’s latest work in progress. It is also rumoured that the new tablets are likely to be powered by the latest MediaTek quad-core processor.

Acer CEO told a CHinese newspaper that the company is considering expansion of its tablet line up with more screen sizes and price ranges to stand tall in the highly competitive market. Acer views Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD as its key competitors in this field.

The company is all set to supply 200 million tablets to the market this year. 80 Million of these tablets will include high end devices.

The 8 and 10 inch versions of the Iconia B1 is likely to be released in the fourth quarter, towards the end of this year.

The Acer Iconia Bi 7 inch version is being sold at a price of Rs. 7, 990.
