Saavn, the popular online music streaming service has launched a paid version of its service known as Saavn Pro.

Saavn Pro, being a paid subscription music streaming service will allow its users to listen to music even while staying offline. The updated version of the music streaming application is expected to get a great response from the Saavn fans as it will enable them to listen to their favorite songs without having an internet connection.

Saavn had launched a feature phone app in the month of August, 2012 allowing its users to stream music on their devices. Saavn has recently extended the list of its offerings by adding English soundtracks to its catalogue. The app now offers music contents in six different languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati and Marathi.

Currently, Saavn has over 10.5 million user and possesses 1.1 million soundtracks in its music catalogue. These days, paid music services are growing rapidly in India. Now, with the launch of its Pro version, we may expect the company to give a tough competition to other music streaming services such as Flyte and Apple iTune Store.

Recently, HP has partnered with Hungama  and Universal Music to launch a subscription based music service named as HP Connected Music. Various other paid music providers such as Hungama, Dhingana and Gaana.com are repeatedly refreshing their offerings. In such a scenario, there still is a question behind Saavn’s new launch, whether it would be sufficient for it to face the increasing rivalry or not?
