Samsung Galaxy Grand unveiled, not as Grand as we thought

After all rumors and ramblings, Samsung Galaxy Grand is official now. Korea based Samsung has officially announced the new smartphone with a mid range set of specifications. In the rumor mill, the word “Grand” in the model name had raise the expectations hinting towards a heavy specifications set.

Samsung Galaxy Grand sports a 5 inch WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels which sounds a bit lower in Comparison to previous Samsung flagship models.

Samsung Galaxy Grand is loaded with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS toppled with TouchWiz interface of Samsung and is powered by dual core processor of 1.2 GHz complemented by 1GB of RAM. It comes with Multi Window Mode which enables multi tasking experience in an enhanced way by letting its user operate more than one app simultaneously. It has 8GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB via micro SD card.

Samsung has provided its trademark inbuilt features like Smart Alert, Samsung Hubs and Direct Call. The Smart Alert feature provides information about missed calls and messages through its unique vibrating nudge.

The smartphone will also come in a dual SIM variant dubbed I9082 as well along with the standard single SIM model I9080. The Dual SIM version will be the version that will be launched initially in the market.

It has an 8 megapixel camera at the rear end for shutterbugs and 2MP camera at the front for video calling. Samsung Galaxy Grand is fueled by a 2100mah battery.

There is no official announcement about the timing or location where the mobile is expected to be launched first.
