Samsung Galaxy S II Receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich via Samsung Kies

|January 2 2012 |Samsung, Android ICS Update

Samsung as promised, started rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates to the smartphones. The flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S II started receiving the Android ICS updates. But this time, Samsung choose to update via Kies and not over-the -air. For Samsung Galaxy S II there are two ROM's available, I9100XXKP4 that is based on Android 4.0.1 from 20th December 2011 and I9100XXKP8 based on Android 4.0.3 dated December, 30.

At most regions, the KP8 ROM with Android v4.0.3 ICS will be made available directly, rather than both. The updated version will probably bring changes in user interface, like toggle buttons, icons and nothing much other than this.
