Samsung launches Galaxy Gear smartwatch in multiple color versions for $299

The Samsung Unpacked 2013 event has unveiled a lot of devices from the South Korean tech giant including the highly anticipated smartphone of this year the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as well as the lifestyle device the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Company has finally officially unveiled this smartwatch and it has mainly emphasized on providing the device with multiple color versions to make it a beautiful lifestyle device.

Full specifications of this Samsung smartwatch include a 1.63inch Super AMOLED touch screen display with the resolution of 320 * 320 resolution. It is powered by a basic single core Exynos 800MHz processor and runs on Google Android Operating basic system version but comes with 60-70 pre-loaded applications.

For your information, it is not an independent device because you will need Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone or the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to pair with it to operate it. It has been priced at $299 which is twice the price of the Pebble Smartwatch and it will be available from September 25th 2013.

Body of the Samsung Galaxy Gear consists of plastic materials and it comes with non-removable 315mAh battery which company claims to provide 1 day of usage time for an average user. It uses the Bluetooth 4.0 low energy standard communication technology to connect with your device. It is having 1.9MP camera which can capture decent quality photos and it also comes with speaker and microphones.

Price of the Samsung Galaxy Gear is a bit high comparing to the features it offers. Well, all we can say at the moment is that company should be working on improving the features of its wearable device if it wants to impress gadget lovers on wide level in the market.
