Korean tech company, Samsung has rolled out software updates for the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 devices in India. The device has received two minor updates for stability improvement and the Blocking mode beside some minor bug fixes.

With the new update, the device will have the XXAMA9 Android 4.1.2 firmware. While the stability improvement update is 27.86MB, the Blocking Mode measures at 21.17MB.

The Blocking Mode is a Android 4.1.2 Jellybean feature that lets users disable notifications for incoming calls, alarm, timer and other alerts. It lets users set the time when they do not want to be disturbed. The update has an “Allowed Contacts” feature that allows users to receive calls from certain contacts when they activate the Blocking Mode.

The Galaxy Grand Duos has a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixels resolution display. It has a 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM. The device has 8GB internal storage that is expandable up to 64GB externally via micro SD card. It has a 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The connectivity options included are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device runs on a 2100mAh battery.

The update can be accessed over -the-air (OTA) on Settings ? About Device ? Software Update ? Update. Users can also download the update via the Samsung Kies from their PCs. We would advise device owners to backup all their existing data before installing the new update, as their might chance of losing your data.
