Sony sweetens the tablet deal by offering a $100 discount on both 16GB and 32GB versions on Sony Tablet S. The new slashed price brings the 16GB version of Tablet S to $399.99 and the 32GB version to $499.99.
Though there are no indications from the Japanese giant on the sudden price change, the industry experts claim that, Sony is in hurry to clear inventory. This is in order to launch a sequel to the Tablet or the tablets went unsold. Recently, Sony in an official statement confirmed the Tablet S and Tablet P will get an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. The Sony Tablet S and the Tablet P have limited market response. Either of the tablets failed to break into the top five tablets list and it has a tough competition in the market. Sony need to consider that the tablets were not only loosing the market share to Apple iPad, but also to loosing the sales to other Android tablets like Kindle Fire. The new Amazon Kindle Fire with a $199.99 pricing sold approximately 3 Million units so far.
