Steve Jobs is on Medical Leave

|January 18 2011 |Industry News

Steve Jobs is reportedly battling with deteriorating health once again. We all know that he is suffering from Neuroendocrine cancer since 2004. This cancer spreads slowly. He also underwent a liver transplantation in 2009. Looks like the cancer is slowly taking control of him. His health has worsened severely. He has taken a medical leave of absence. He has been losing weight steadily.

There has been no official news regarding this. Couple of leading news dailies reported about the speculated cause for this worsening health.

Steve will continue to be the CEO and Cook will take over the day-to-day control of Apple until steve returns.

Steve Jobs is already a legend. He is a rare breed of personality with a combination of artistic and analytical mind. Somebody once said, "Steve is artisit at heart and engineer at mind". It is this rare combination that gave us the wonderful innovations and designs that we witness today in the mobile and computing world. We sincerely wish and pray that Steve returns back to his normal health...

Official Email sent by Steve jobs to their employees
Apple CEO Steve Jobs today sent the following email to all Apple employees:
Team,

At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.

I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations. I have great confidence that Tim and the rest of the executive management team will do a terrific job executing the exciting plans we have in place for 2011.

I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy.

Steve
