Tata Docomo is all set to launch its 3G services across all its 9 circles in India by Diwali. According to a website (medianama) , a Tata Teleservices spokesperson has confirmed that the company will launch 3G by 5th November 2010, coinciding with the Diwali festival.
With this Tata Docomo will become the first private GSM operator in India to commercially roll out 3G services. The company has secured spectrum in the 9 circles of Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (West).
According to the spokesperson, the pricing is still under consideration, however the service will be reasonably priced. He also informed that the network, which is being built by Nokia Siemens and Huawei, will enable Tata Docomo to provide world class 3G data and call services. Roaming agreements with other operators have been also finalized. The company is also in talks with handset makers and VAS providers for bundling phones and providing value added services.
