Samsung debutes the international market after the launch of its new Samsung Galaxy Tab(let)-expected to release its first product in South Africa and Korea. The tablet comes with an AMOLED display of 1024 x 600 pixels with a 7’’ TFT screen as compared to the Galaxy S smartphone which had a 4’’ display screen. It facilitates 3G network, GPRS and EGPRS along with the WLAN advantage.
It features a front facing camera with the phone icon on the homescreen ,indicative of making voice calls and video conferencing , as well as the sim card icon in the notification panel is an added benefit. The 7’’ tablet offers an Android OS version of 2.1 with a custom Touchwiz UI interface. It will run Samsung’s own 1GHz Hummingbird platform (S5 PC110) which consists of a power VR SGx540 graphics processor. The playback supports almost all the major audio file formats like MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+.
The phone also boasts of the features like accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate,3.5 mm audio jack, microSD card slot, Document editor (word, excel, powerpoint, PDF) and many more. The other specifications include image/ video editor, Google search maps and Gmail, Youtube, google talk and Picasa integration, flash support and many more. As of now it is now coming in blck and grey colours.
