"Taking a look at some of the top devices launching in the month of December"

With the smartphone industry evolving at an exponential rate, there is something new lurking around the corner even with the year coming to an end. The
anticipation for the next big thing starts building up almost immediately after a noteworthy smartphone goes official. While some brands are focussing on the devices they have already launched this year, there are others like HTC and OnePlus who are busy prepping for launches and expanding their catalogues. In this article, we take a look at some noteworthy smartphones which are expected to launch in the month of December.

Lenovo K6 Power

Lenovo K6 Power

Lenovo has had a busy 2016 with the company launching a host of smartphones in its budget K-series lineup. What started with the K4 Note (review) in January progressed to the Vibe K5, which was launched just a couple months later. Add to that the semi-modular Moto Z lineup along with the loaded Lenovo Z2 Plus (review) and one would think that the company would be done for the year. However, that is not the case as Lenovo has just introduced the sixth iteration in the K series in the form of the K6 Power. The smartphone comes in a compact form factor featuring a 5-inch full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. Lenovo has packed 3GB of RAM inside the K6 Power and the smartphone draws its fuel from a massive 4,000mAh battery.

nubia Z11

The nubia Z11 was launched in China back in June and the company announced at IFA that its flagship will be making its way to other Asian markets including India very soon. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD panel and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. With up to 6GB of RAM under the hood along with option to expand the internal storage up to 128GB, the brand has given users ample room for multitasking as well as storage. In the camera department, the brand has opted to furnish its flagship with an 8MP front facing camera and a 16MP primary shooter. Fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery, the nubia 11 is a solid device on paper although it might be a little late to the party with OnePlus set to launch the OnePlus 3T with an upgraded processor in the coming month too.

OnePlus 3T

While the OnePlus 3 (review) is a solid flagship featuring top-notch specifications, it can be better. And that is all the motivation folks at OnePlus needed to upgrade the immensely successful flagship. The newer device, which has been labelled the OnePlus 3T, comes with a newer Snapdragon 821 processor compared to the Snapdragon 820 chip found on its predecessor. The 3T bumps also up the front facing camera sensor to 16MP from 8MP found on the 3, and increases the battery to 3,400mAh as well. Buyers now have the option to opt for a 128GB variant of the device and can choose a new shade for their smartphone too, called Gun metal grey. The rest of the specifications of the smartphone are similar to the OnePlus 3.

Moto M

The Moto M is Lenovo’s first smartphone to flaunt a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone sports a metal unibody design, and features a double layer nano-coating that protects it from drizzle, spills and splashes. It comes with a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, and is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 SoC with 4GB of RAM working in tandem. Having been launched in China recently, Motorola has hinted that the mid-ranger will be making its way to India very soon. The device is expected to be targeted to the mid range audience and should fall within the Rs 20K price bracket.

HTC 10 evo

While we covered the HTC 10 evo in a recent launch event (first impressions), the company didn't give any insight about the device's pricing or its exact availability. For the uninitiated, the HTC 10 evo is the first from the brand to boast resistance to water, and dumps the 3.5mm headset jack in favour of USB Type-C audio. The handset sports a 5.5-inch 2K display and packs an ageing Snapdragon 810 processor. The 10 evo comes with 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Both the storage variants do come with support for microSD cards for expansion of the device's internal memory. In the camera department, HTC has furnished the smartphone with a pair of 16MP and 8MP shooters on the back and the front respectively.  Fuelled by a 3,200mAh battery, the 10 evo 10 runs Android Nougat out of the box. While HTC smartphones offer premium build quality, pairing a smartphone in late 2016 with a Snapdragon 810 processor might raise some eyebrows amongst customers.

Coolpad Mega 3 and Note 3S

Coolpad is set to unveil two smartphones in the coming month too, dubbed the Mega 3 and the Note 3S. The company sent out an invite for an event taking place on November 30th and we expect the smartphones to go on sale in the following week. Unfortunately, no info on the phones' specifications have been unveiled by the company yet, but buyers can expect both the smartphones to come within the budget price bracket. We'll be updating you with the latest info regarding both the phones very soon so stay tuned.
