Twitter to launch App for Firefox OS for Mobiles

Mozilla Firefox Operating System for Smartphones has been recently unveiled at the MWC 2013. And Now, the famous Social Networking Site, Twitter has confirmed to developing new apps for Mozilla Firefox OS Platform.


Twitter confirmed that its apps will be available with the first Mozilla Firefox OS based Smartphones that are to be rolled out soon.

Manuel Deschamps wrote, "Similar to our other mobile apps, Twitter for Firefox OS has a rich interface, featuring the Home, Connect, Discover and Me tabs, as well as the search and compose Tweet icons, so you can easily find and send Tweets from anywhere in the app," on the company's official blog post.

The app will boast all the features that are currently present on the iOS and Android versions of this application. These features include Compose Tweet Tabs such as Me, Home, Connect Me & Discover.

The Twitter App for Mozilla Firefox OS can have some additional features like 'Web Activities', which lets you to directly tweet your pictures from any other application, which also do supports this feature.

Mozilla Firefox has came together with four handset manufacturers including LG, Huawei, Alcatel and ZTE to roll out new Smartphones running on Mozilla Firefox OS for Smartphones. The Company has also tied up with chipmaker Qualcomm to power up its handsets.

Alcatel and ZTE have already showcased their new Smartphones running on this new platform at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2013 at Barcelona, Spain. This latest OS will face a tough competition with Google’s Android System, which has already grabbed a big share in the market.
