By saving games on cloud storage, a user can continue playing the same games from any other device, that too from the exact level where he stopped playing on one device.

International video game developer, Ubisoft is working on completely a new technology that can potentially revolutionize the mobile gaming industry. Cloud storage for mobile games will allow players to upload and save their game data on cloud storage. The advantage of using cloud based storage is that you can continue playing the same game from any other device, that too from the exact level where he stopped playing on one device.

Chris Early, head of digital at Ubisoft, told Pocket-lint that cloud storage based gaming is a big deal and that he personally cannot stand it  when he has to re-do something from scratch. Thus, cloud-based storage is a one-stop solution for one of the biggest issues in gaming.

He also added that Ubisoft's upcoming game Ghost Recon Commander will have cloud storage enabled, allowing players to access the game on a variety of platforms like Facebook, mobile and tablet devices.

If a player’s game data is made available online, it opens the door for those games to be played on any platform. So this technology is a god-send for users having multiple devices running different operating systems.

Although it sounds pretty cool, the success of this new technology will depend on the technical abilities of the developers and how well they execute the idea.
