Did you pre-order a Micromax Canvas 4 A210? Are you one among the pre-order customers who are yet to receive the unit, even though its already available in stores? This might be the reason.
Micromax proudly claimed more than 11k pre-orders for Canvas 4 on the day of its launch. These consumers pre-ordered the handset without even knowing its features, look, pricing etc. Just a blind faith on Micromax drove them to pre-order a unit.
We heard disappointment from pre-order consumers when the company revealed that the display is not Full-HD. The much hyped smart phone of the year was nothing more than a simple up gradation to it predecessor with some bizarre features toppled. There was no change in core features except of camera. Later on, some consumers complained that they did not receive the device, even when it already went on sale through physical stores. Now a goof spotted by Gizmodo hints what might have happened with those units.
Micromax sent out order confirmation to customers via email confirming the deduction of MRP less pre-order price. That mail contained your name, address, contact details and login-id, password for the pre-order panel. Surprisingly, this mail also contained similar information for many more customers. A letter highlighted by one of the consumer contains the information for 130 other consumers.
This means one consumer has access to pre-order panel of 130 other consumers. He can easily login and change the shipping address of the unit to wherever he wants. Surprised?
If you are one among the pre-order consumers awaiting you hand set, login to your panel and see if everything is ok. If you find a different address, flag this immediately to the company.
