At its Annual Live Conference in May this year, BlackBerry had announced that its popular messaging service- BlackBerry Messenger will be coming soon to Android and iOS. While, the company didn’t gave any launch date, it hinted that the app will be coming by the end of summer. Someone from BlackberryOS.com was able to get a beta of the app and gives us a video walkthrough of the app-
BBM is running on HTC First, which is a low-end device, but the app works smoothly.
The interface of the app is exactly similar to what we see on BlackBerry devices. This means that the app will support the tabs at the bottom with option of opening chats, contacts and groups. Left side has options such as chats, contacts, groups, updates and invites. Whereas the right side offers settings, and option to start group chat or send broadcast message. It also works well with swiping gestures.
The apps also support NFC capability which means the supported devices will be able to share contacts by a single tap.
BlackBerry has added a landing page for BBM, which hints that the app will be coming soon for Android and iOS users.
