"One of the highlights of the Cube 3 is the company's own safety app called SOS - Be Safe, which comes preloaded on the device"

The Indian smartphone market is not going to cool down anytime soon and thus it gives creative space for both existing and emerging brands to play their cards and entice smartphone users with their own offerings. Videocon has been in the mobile business for a while, but has mostly stuck to entry-level smartphones. However, the brand recently launched the Videocon Cube 3, which, despite being a budget smartphone, brings forth some interesting features to the table. It's the first smartphone from Videocon to offer 3GB of RAM, and marks the beginning of an upcoming lineup which will only sport 3 gigs or more memory. Another highlight is the company's own safety app called SOS - Be Safe, which comes preloaded on the phone.

Just to recap the details, the Cube 3 has been priced at Rs 8,499 and features a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved display. The phone is powered by a MediaTek MT6735 processor, aided by 3GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. The primary camera is rated at 13MP, and features phase detection autofocus. There’s a dual LED flash module as well. For selfies it utilises a 5MP camera complemented by an LED flash. The device runs Android Marshmallow, and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, along with 4G VoLTE.
