For quite sometime Videocon remained quiet and only a few feature phones supplied of late. However, the hiatus has been bridged by two Android phones now and those are Videocon A30 and Videocon A20, with very contemporary specifications.

These two models were put on FlipKart as coming soon very recently. The A30 has provision for dual SIM and runs on Android 4.0 operating system. It sports a 4-inch screen and is powered by 1 GHz dual core processors. It is equipped with 5 megapixel primary camera and 0.3 megapixel front to facilitate video calling. The phone is fueled by a 1500 mAH battery.

The A30 is expected to be priced tagged at Rs 8,000 or lower. In next couple of days it will hit the Indian stores.

The Videocon A20 will be a basic level dual SIM device. It runs on Android 2.3 operating system and sports a 3.5-inch screen. Powered by 1 GHz Scorpion processor from Qualcomm, the phone is equipped with a 3 megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel front camera. It is fueled by a 1350 mAH battery and comes with 16 GB of external.

A20 is expected to be priced Rs 6000.

Two years back Videocon gave its first Android phone in the form of Zeus. The long hibernation will create a problem of re-entry to Videocon, and will have to compete with giants like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. An intense pricing war is going on and Videocon has to price its phones with a lot of variants, if it wants to stay alive in the competition.
