Vuclip Launches India's First Independent Mobile Movie Portal

California based mobile video content provider Vuclip announced the launch of India's first independent mobile movie portal. This new web area termed Starlight Cinema will cater the need of mobile users who're eagerly waiting for rich video content. Vuclip will deliver videos including shortened feature films, movie clips, songs, reviews and trailers. Even the low-end feature phones can download videos without the need of any external application.

India being a diversified nation, service provider must ensure priorities to the regional content. India is a country where people are deeply in love with movies. Starlight Cinema video portal will offer nearly 9000 movie clips in 13 regional languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Punjabi, Oriya, Rajasthani, Kashmiri, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

"During the pilot testing stage, as many as two million movie-lovers visited Starlight Cinema, generating over 11 million video views in just 100 days," said Salman Hussain, vice-president (business development) and managing director (India and West Asia), Vuclip.

starlight1starlight2"To make it more appealing to our consumers, we are also launching dedicated mobile micro-sites for various regional languages, beginning with one channel exclusively featuring south Indian movie clips, including Telugu movies such as Dookudu, Oosaravelli, Dhada, Mr Perfect, Ye Maya Chesave, as well as upcoming movies Panjaa and Sri Rama Rajyam, Tamil movies such as Aum Arivu and upcoming movies Poraali, Osthe, Mayakkam Enna, besides movie clips in Kannada and Malayalam," he further added.

So far, Vuclip served over five billion video views worldwide. The content on Starlight Cinema is delivered from the big players in industry including, UTV Motion Pictures, Reliance Entertainment, Vega, Whacked Out Media and Maa TV. Also, the company is working with other content providers to meet the ever-increasing demand for exclusive movie content on mobile phones. With this they can digitize video clips from more than 8500 movies.
