Wicked Leak, a Mumbai based tech manufacturer has launched the Wammy Passion Y which is a 5-inch device running on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS at a price of Rs. 16,999.

The Wammy Passion Y features a 5-inch HD IPD capacitive Multi-touch display which bears a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating system which is upgradable to Android version 4.2 OS. It gets powered with a 1.2GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT 6589 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and Power VR SGX544 GPU. It packs an 8MP Camera with LED Flash and 4X Zoom along with a 2MP Front-facing Camera for video calling. The Passion Y offers an onboard storage of 4GB which can be further expanded externally up to 32GB via Micro SD Card. The connectivity features of the innovative device includes 3G, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS. It has got a 2800 mAh battery.

Wicked Leak was launching single-core and dual-core devices until now but, with the launch of the Passion Y accompanied by a Quad-Core processor the manufacturer has made it very clear that it is competing with Micromax in the Indian market. Taking our sights on the in-detailed specs of the new device from Wicked Leak, we can surely state that it will give a tough competition to the Canvas HD A116 from Micromax which also possesses a 5-inch HD IPS display, 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 OS, 8MP Rear camera, VGA Front Camera and a 2100 mAh battery.

However, the Wammy Passion Y has a slightly higher price than the Canvas HD A116 but the device efficiently justifies the extra bucks it demands with a more powerful front camera and battery it features.
