Wammy Passion Y, the Quad-core phablet gets Android 4.2 update

Here arrives a good news for all the Wicked Leak Wammy Passion Y smartphone owners, as Wicked Leak has announced an Operating System update for the Quad-Core device.

Wicked Leak has announced through its official press release that it will be rolling out an Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system update for the Wammy Passion Y smartphone on March 30, 2013.

The Android 4.2 OS update will bring to the Passion Y smartphone, an enhanced performance, stability and an improved user experience with the introduction of improved Google Now, Swipe/gesture Typing, improved camera features, smarter keyboard and GPS info with pictures synced with Camera.


Wammy Passion Y was recently launched by Wicked Leak Inc. with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) OS and a 5-inch IPS Capacitive Display exhibiting a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It gets powered with a 1.2GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6589 Processor coupled with 1GB of RAM along with PowerVR SGX544 GPU. The other features of the Dual-SIM smartphone includes 8MP Rear camera with LED Flash, 2MP Front Camera, 4GB Internal Memory, expandable up to 32GB via Micro SD Card, 3G, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS and a 2800 mAh battery.

Priced at Rs. 16,999, Wammy Passion Y which was previously available with Android 4.1.2 OS will now be shipped with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS, out of the box. Wicked Leak, the Mumbai-based Tech manufacturer has soon planned to release an Android 4.2 operating system for its Wammy Titan 2 smartphone.
