"A look inside the retail box of the Xiaomi Mi Pad"

Xiaomi has been nothing short of a firecracker in India's smartphone market, and this year has decided to target yet another lucrative category - tablets. The company's first slate, the Mi Pad, went on sale in China nearly nine months ago, and now Xiaomi is finally launching it in India. At Rs 12,999, not only is the Mi Pad affordable, but in classic Xiaomi style, it pretty much obliterates the competition when you look at its specs – a 7.9-inch 2,048 x 1,536 pixel display, 2.2GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal expandable storage, 8MP/5MP cameras, a 6,700mAh battery and Android KitKat with MIUI 6 on top. The Mi Pad will be available on Flipkart starting March 24th without registration, but with specs like these we don't expect it to stay in stock very long. We managed to get our hands on the slate last year when Xiaomi was prepping its Indian entry, but now that the launch is around the corner, we have the Mi Pad with us for review. Here's a look inside its retail box.

Like all Xiaomi products, the Mi Pad too comes in austere cardboard packaging with all the specs listed at the back. Lifting up the lid you'll find the Mi Pad sitting pretty right on top. Underneath is a cavity which contains the two-pin wall charger. A slim cardboard packet contains the warranty and documentation, along with an ejecter tool for removing the microSD card tray. Tucked away underneath is the micro-USB to USB cable for charging and data transfers.

While this completes the short tour of the Mi Pad's box contents, we're only just getting started with this power-packed slate. Stay tuned for our full review and other tasty tidbits over the coming week.
