Zen mobiles is already in Android market with a couple of tablets under the Ultratab series. Now the company has forayed in to the Android mobiles segment with launch of a range of smartphones under the series named Ultraphone. The range has 3 mobile phones named U1, U4 and U5.
Zen Ultraphone U1 is the cheapest mobile of the lot. Priced Rs 4999, the mobile sports a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen running Android 2.3 powered by 1GHz processor. It features a 3.2 MP camera with LED flash. For connectivity, the phone has GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi but lacks 3G capability. It is backed by a 1200 mAH battery.
At this price point, we don’t find Zen U1 a good buy. It features are at par with Karbonn A1+ which can be purchased for a way lower price of Rs 3679. For 5K budget, we would rather suggest you to go for Micromax Ninza 3 A57 which features similar specification along with the 3G functionality.
Zen Ultraphone U4, priced at Rs 5999 sports a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen running Android 2.3 powered by 1GHz processor. Powered by 1500 mAh battery, it packs a 3.2 inch rear camera and VGA front camera. Zen U4 is the cheapest Android phone in India with such a large screen size. Though integration of Android 4.0 could have been made it better deal.
Zen Ultraphone U5 is the costliest and hottest mobile of the lot. It’s a phablet sporting 5.2 inch screen running Android 2.3 powered by 1GHz processor. The price of this mobile on the Zen Mobile’s website is appearing as Rs 8999, however on Homeshop 18, the product is priced at Rs 7999 only. The phone is not on sale, so the final price cant be confirmed at this point of time. If final price comes to be Rs 7999, this mobile is going to give a tough competition to Micromax A110.
