Chinese mobile company, ZTE has revealed a host of new devices that the company is planning to launch this year. Two interesting devices that we liked were the ZTE Grand Memo which is the first device to come out with a Snapdragon 800 chipset and the ZTE Open which is an entry level Firefox OS device.
The ZTE Grand Memo has a really big 5.7 inch touch screen with a resolution of 720 pixels and display density of 258 ppi. The device runs on Android 4.1 JellyBean operating system. It is powered by a powerful 1.5GHz CPU with Adreno 330 GPU. The Snapdragon 800 chipset was launched in CES 2013 that was held in January this year. It has a 13 MP rear camera that offers video recording up to 1080 pixels. Connectivity options include LTE Cat3 (100Mbps down, 50Mbps up) and dual-band Wi-Fi with 802.11ac support. The device runs on a powerful 3200mAh battery.
The ZTE Open is an entry level device that runs on the latest Firefox OS and includes HTML5 based apps. It has a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display with 1GHz single core processor and 256MB of RAM. The device has a 3.2 MP rear camera. The connectivity features on this device include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and A-GPS with Nokia HERE maps. The HTML5 allows users to download web pages as temporary apps on their device. The device is powered by a 1200 mAh battery.
Both devices will be available in the markets from the second quarter of 2013 onwards.
