ZTE, Huawei, Ericsson Win MTS Deal

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL), owner of ‘MTS’ brand, has ZTE, Huawei and Ericsson to provide network managed services (NMS) at different telecom circles. “The network share of MTS has been split between these management services provider for better outputs,” SSTL said.

“Further improving the network operations, NMS  opted by MTS will allow the company to set a new standards of network delivery and achieving competitive cost position. It also allows learning from multiple MSV experiences and implementation, giving our customers the best of experiences,” said Jens Kirchner, chief technology advisor, SSTL.

For the shared sites, Network Managed service providers will handle entire active network elements / telecom equipment including staff and program management of passive infrastructure at the core equipment offices and media providers at BTS sites. In addition to that for MTS owned sites, vendors will also manage comprehensive AMC for Passive infrastructure at BTS sites.

“ZTE, Huawei and Ericsson have been selected to manage MTS services based on their expertise and efficiency in respective regions and convenient price models. Remaining circles will be assigned to vendors at a later stage based on vendor performance and commercial terms,” the company added.
