If you`re reading this review of the Dell XPS 10, you either have already considered or will in the very near future consider the Microsoft Surface RT first. It`s simply an overall better tablet value, thanks to its slightly wider screen, better build......

Pros: The Dell XPS 10 includes expandable storage and a depressible Windows button, and its $180 keyboard features plenty of useful ports as well as an extra battery.

Cons: There are a few annoying performance bugs. The base tablet doesnu2019t have as many ports as the Surface RT. It lacks a kickstand and its keyboard isnu2019t as comfortable to type on.

Verdict: The Dell XPS 10 is a valiant effort at a Windows RT tablet but doesnu2019t pack enough value into its base package to favorably compete with the Surface RT....

Either spotting a gap in the market or just out of loyalty to its best buddy Microsoft, Dell has released its own Windows RT slate. Aimed at business users, the 10.1-inch Dell XPS 10 is another transformer-style laptop-tablet hybrid, shipping with an attachable keyboard that turns it into a laptop for working on the move. The Dell XPS 10 falls into a crowded market, with a host of devices aiming to please similar needs. The Asus VivoTab, Samsung ...

If you think you need to carry all of your digital files (especially videos and multimedia) with you at all times, stop reading this and go read a review for a more power user-oriented system. Still here? Okay, the Dell XPS 10 ($679.99 bundled with keyboard dock) has one of the longest battery life test results we`ve seen. You can use this convertible tablet on the longest flight in the world, and still have battery power left over to check your ...

Pros: Very portable. Over 20 hours of battery life with dock. Can trickle charge with micro-USB. Comfortable keyboard dock. Speakers built into dock.

Cons: Cons Limited Windows RT app library. Can't install older Windows apps. Can't install third-party browser. Local storage a bit small.

    31 Dec 2012 | v3

Dell`s XPS 10 is a hybrid Windows RT tablet that can be combined with an optional keyboard dock, effectively turning it into a netbook or mini laptop, and doubling the battery life at the same time....

Pros: Long battery life, good keyboard, Office 2013 apps built-in

Cons: Low screen resolution, incompatible with standard Windows apps, no mobile broadband

Verdict: The XPS 10 is a hybrid tablet that works well as a tablet, or as a netbook when docked with its keyboard. With Windows RT, it is more a rival for Android and Apple than Windows 8 systems, while Office 2013 is built-in for anyone needing a mobile......

With its tidy keyboard dock, the Dell XPS 10 should be the ideal combination of tablet and laptop. But the dock is an expensive extra and the tablet itself is seriously let down by build quality issues, not to mention its inability to install standard......

Pros: Relatively affordable price ; Good battery life ; Screen provides good colours

Cons: Awful build quality ; Keyboard dock is an expensive extra ; Uninspiring design ; Windows 8 RT app store is poorly stocked

Verdict: Tablets with keyboard docks are certainly a handy way of combining the touch interaction of a tablet with the ease of typing of a keyboard. Unfortunately, the XPS 10 fails to impress. Its poor build quality, uninspiring design, average performance an...
