The HTC Desire 816D is definitely a good buy if you are looking for a powerful configuration, and an impressive camera performance. It's a bit expensive but well justifies the price.
Display and Design
The HTC Desire 816D features a 5.5-inch S-LCD 2 multi-touch display with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels (HD) and a pixel density of 267ppi. The super thin bezels along with a waistline of 8mm gives the phablet a more premium look and enhances its appeal. The all new phablet comes encased in a polycarbonate plastic body including both glossy and matte finish textures and weighs only 165 grams which makes it very easy to hold. The good pixel density ensures superior brightness, wide arrayed colour spectrum and excellent viewing angles.
At the core of the device, it is powered by a 1.6GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor sitting on 64-bit Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset. The CPU is also strengthened by 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU which is very effective in multitasking. The users can run multiple apps simultaneously, surf the web with shorter loading time, stream beautifully lag-free videos and enjoy a decent gaming experience. The phablet sails on Android v4.4.2 (Kitkat) with HTC Sense 6 skin on the top.
Camera and storage
The HTC Desire 816D packs in a powerful 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and provides good quality shots even in low light conditions. It also supports Full HD video recording at 30fps and HD video recording at 60fps in mp4 format. The camera setup looks quite impressive with features like Back-illuminated sensor (BSI), Exposure compensation, Face detection, Geo tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), ISO control, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, Touch to focus and White balance presets.
