Display and Configuration
The Karbonn A40 comes with a 5-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display, which flaunts a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, and a pixel density of 188 ppi. With the dimensions of 154.8 X 76.4 X 6.9 mm and weighing at 140 gm, it is a well-built device from Karbonn.
The A40 runs Android v4.4.2 KitKat operating System. It is powered by a Mediatek dual-core processor, which clocks at a speed of 1.2GHz, while the RAM provided is 512MB.
Camera and Memory
The 5-megapixel camera on this device backs the HD video recording at 1080p. Additionally, the camera is equipped with features like autofocus, panorama, etc. The LED Flash helps capturing the right instant in poor lighting conditions. A front camera of 0.3 MP is also provided to assist you with video chat.
The 4GB of internal storage, out of which only about 1.5GB is available to user, seems a bit low. However, you can expand the memory further up to 32GB thanks to the microSD card slot.

To connect with internet or other devices, it uses features like 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, microUSB, Wi-Fi etc. The battery capacity of the phone is 1,700mAh, which claims to provide a talk time of up to 9 hours on 3G and 11 hours for 2G.
The Karbonn A40 is an average device with some proficient features. A large touchscreen of 5.0-inch and the latest OS make it a great option as a low-end smartphone.
